CTET 2026 Highlights: CBSE Opens Correction Window, Revised Exam Dates For 22nd Edition Soon

CTET 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 revised examination dates soon. The board has started the facility for online correction in the CTET 2026 application form, on the official website, ctet.nic.in.

The correction window is open from September 7 to 10, 2026. Candidates who have successfully submitted their application forms during the registration window from May 11 to June 10 can also make corrections in their particulars.

The CBSE reopened the 22nd CTET application window on August 25, giving candidates another opportunity to apply. The registration window closed on September 1, as per the revised schedule. In the public notice, the CBSE noted that the revised date of the 22nd edition of CTET examination will be announced after closure of the portal.

Earlier, the CTET registration portal was active from May 11 to June 10, 2026, and the exam was scheduled for September 6, 2026. The CBSE noted that the Supreme Court has "emphasised the need to afford eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed TET qualification." The board stated: "In view of the aforesaid and in the larger interest of candidates, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to all eligible candidates who could not avail themselves of the earlier application window by opening the online application portal." According to the prescribed test structure by the Central Board of Secondary Education, all questions in the CTET exam will be multiple choice questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate.

Each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative marking. The Central Board of Secondary Education today started the facility for online correction in the CTET 2026 application form, on the official website, ctet.nic.in.

The correction window is open from September 7 to 10, 2026. According to the official exam notification, questions in Paper 2 of the CTET 2026 exam will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for Classes 6 to 8.

However, candidates must note that difficulty standard as well as linkages, can be up to the Senior Secondary stage. According to official information, the 'CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws' prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes 1 to 8 in the CBSE affiliated schools have been amended, making it mandatory for teachers to qualify or pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

The validity period of the CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be for life time for all categories, according to the official exam notification. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET certificate.

A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score. According to official information, the option to select an exam city was not available on the online application portal. The examination city to the applicants will be allotted by CBSE on a random basis, the exam body stated.

Candidates must also note that the request for change of the allotted examination city will not be accepted by the CBSE. The Central Board of Secondary Education has started the facility for online correction in the CTET 2026 application form, on the official website, ctet.nic.in.

The CBSE has advised candidates to read the instructions on the CTET admit card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the examination. According to official information, there will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of the CTET 2026 result.

No correspondence in this regard will be entertained, the exam body noted. According to the prescribed test structure by the CBSE, all questions in the CTET exam will be multiple choice questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate.

The CBSE will provide the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) marksheets to all candidates and eligibility certificates to successful candidates in digital format in candidates' DigiLocker account. The records of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test, including the OMR answer sheet is preserved only for two months from the date of the declaration of result.
